Horror Cosplay Showcase
Strange Little Obsessions proudly presents Icons of Obsessions, a curated horror cosplay showcase celebrating craftsmanship, creativity, and beautifully strange characters.
Rather than a traditional cosplay competition, Icons of Obsessions is designed as a cinematic walk-and-pose runway experience, where creators step into the spotlight to showcase their work and presence.
This showcase is about craft, character, and creative identity, giving horror makers a stage within a carefully curated atmosphere.
Places are limited and offered on a first come basis.
Categories
Creators may enter one of the following categories:
Icons Reborn
Recognisable horror icons or inspired characters.
Slashers, monsters, cult horror figures and reimagined classics.
Beautifully Unmade
Original horror characters and artistic creations born from dark imagination.
Stitched in Shadow
Costumes featuring practical effects, prosthetics, creature builds, or advanced costume craftsmanship.
Additional recognitions may be awarded during the showcase.
Young Creators
A chance for young horror fans aged 8–15 to step into the spotlight and show off their favourite costume.
Creator Recognitions
Icons of Obsessions celebrates the creators behind the craft.
Recognitions will be awarded across the showcase categories to honour creativity, craftsmanship, and character design.
Each core category recognition includes:
- Cash recognition supported by the Creator Recognition Fund
- An Icons of Obsessions award plaque
- A ticket to the next Strange Little Obsessions event
Additional recognitions may also be awarded during the showcase.
Apply to Become an Icon
Applications are now open.
Places are limited and will close once the showcase reaches capacity.
Important Notes
- Props are welcome but must be safe and manageable on stage.
- Large costume builds should be declared during application.
- All participants must arrive at their assigned call time.
- Photography and filming will take place during the showcase.
