Shared Sight Film Festival

A collaboration between Strange Little Obsessions & Graeae Horror

Shared Sight Film Festival is our curated showcase of independent horror cinema, created to spotlight bold storytelling, fresh voices, and the strange, unsettling corners of the genre that deserve to be seen on screen.

Created in collaboration with Graeae Horror, this new addition to Strange Little Obsessions brings together a selection of independent horror shorts and features as part of the event weekend in Nottingham.

This is not an endless schedule of films running in the background.

It is a carefully considered part of the event. A space to sit, watch, and experience horror in a different way.

Whether it is atmospheric, psychological, supernatural, experimental, or something harder to pin down, Shared Sight is about giving independent horror a live audience and the room to breathe.

What to Expect

Across the weekend, Shared Sight Film Festival will feature a curated programme of independent horror films screened as part of Strange Little Obsessions 2026.

Selected films will be shown in a dedicated screening space, giving attendees the chance to discover fresh work, support independent filmmakers, and experience stories that might otherwise be lost in the noise.

Included as part of the event experience:

  • Curated horror film screenings across the weekend
  • A mix of short films and limited feature slots
  • Independent voices and original storytelling
  • A live audience within an alternative horror event setting
  • Potential filmmaker Q&As or discussion opportunities where possible

This is all included within your event ticket, with no extra charge to attend the screenings.

For Filmmakers

We are now accepting submissions for Shared Sight Film Festival through FilmFreeway.

We are looking for independent horror films that feel distinctive, well crafted, and memorable. We welcome a wide range of horror styles and subgenres, from quiet dread to full creature chaos.

We are particularly interested in films that bring atmosphere, originality, and a clear creative voice.

We welcome submissions including:

  • Horror shorts
  • Independent horror features
  • Psychological horror
  • Supernatural horror
  • Folk horror
  • Creature features
  • Experimental and atmospheric horror

Selected films will be screened as part of Strange Little Obsessions 2026 at Crowne Plaza Nottingham on 26th and 27th September 2026.

Why Submit?

Shared Sight Film Festival is designed to be selective and intentional.

We are not trying to cram in as many screenings as possible. We want each chosen film to have space to be seen, appreciated, and remembered by an audience that already cares about horror, alternative culture, and independent creativity.

For selected filmmakers, this means:

  • Screening as part of a live public event
  • Exposure to an engaged horror audience
  • Promotion through Strange Little Obsessions and Graeae Horror
  • The opportunity to be part of a carefully curated programme rather than being buried in a huge line-up

About the Collaboration

Shared Sight Film Festival is presented as a collaboration between Strange Little Obsessions and Graeae Horror, bringing together a shared love of independent horror, thoughtful curation, and the kind of work that lingers long after the credits roll.

Together, the aim is to create a film programme that feels like a genuine part of the wider event, not a bolt-on extra.
